Gordon Kelly is a London, UK based freelance journalist and media consultant specialising in the tech sector. He freelances for Wired, The Next Web, TrustedReviews and the BBC amongst others. As a media consultant he works with companies of all sizes to identity flaws, provide training and build smarter, more innovative marketing strategies. Clients include TomTom, Qualcomm and SanDisk.
Previously Gordon was News Editor at TrustedReviews, a site he helped build from an idealistic startup to a major UK publishing force with over 2.5m unique monthly visitors. In 2007 TrustedReviews was acquired by IPC Media.
Gordon began his career at VNU (now Incisive Media) as a reporter on industry title Computer Reseller News (CRN). During his time there he was featured in the Press Gazette for his investigations into anti-competitive behaviour. He was also ranked amongst the top four most influential IT journalists in the country.
Academically Gordon attained a First Class Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Essex and added a Masters in American Studies (specialising in literature and politics) from the University of Nottingham.
In his spare time Gordon is a film buff, guitarist and keen motorbike rider.
Trivia about Gordon: he loves the city but was brought up riding horses in Northumberland, supports Newcastle United for his sins and never tires of the query: “But you don’t have a Geordie accent?”
