That's a fair point Rich, I think it's more my frustration coming out at how easily Twitter is generalised. There are similarities but I think they are used in very different ways. 'Friends' verses 'Followers' are also extremely different groups so it will be interesting to see what happens now Facebook has opened up its API...

It's hardly 'shite' to compare Facebook status with Twitter - Twitter does ask what you're doing, after all. It's just that you use Twitter to message people, and others, like me, use it to microblog. Neither's right or wrong, just different - that's the beauty of Twitter, it's a blank canvas and all things to all people

I think it's a different dynamic to Facebook. Though you can reply to status updates in Facebook they rarely turn into the conversations that Twitter does. I also feel Facebook tells you about a person but Twitter helps you get to know them - it's a very subtle difference.

PS - They don't have more followers yet (think I'm around the 350 mark - but iamgordonsliver is doing well at over 100 while iamgordonsego and iamgordonstoe are teeny) but would love to know who is writing them! Not you is it? :)

I have an endless fascination with Twitter. I love and hate it in equal proportions, but I do agree with your thoughts about it NOT being like a Facebook update.

PS - like the fact your body parts are keener to follow others than your good self ;-)
